Friends of the Library Receives Grants

The Friends of the Morrill Public Library recently received grants focusing on updating equipment and offering new programs at the Library.

The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska awarded grants to the Friends to purchase eight new computers and a laptop.

Friends were also the recipient of a grant from the Ruth and Roger Wolfe Charitable Trust for a Makerspace program for 5 – 7th grade students that will be offered later this year.

Most recently, Humanities Kansas awarded the Friends $300 for a Speakers Bureau event. The public will be invited to hear Louise Hanson “Tasting the Past: Exploring Kansas Food Memories” on April 3, at 6:00 p.m. at the Library.

The Friends of the Library is a 501(c)(3) organization. They are currently pursuing additional grants from the Dollar General Foundation and Friends of Kansas Libraries (FoKL).
